Based in Egremont, we offer free mental health support to anyone in West Cumbria needing help.

Based in Egremont, we offer free mental health support to anyone in West Cumbria needing help.

Beck Green Nurseries has stood in central Egremont for decades. It is a Council owned site that has been leased to us since 2023. We’ve totally refurbished the site and reopened it for the benefit of the local community.

Since opening in early 2024, we’ve already helped hundreds of West Cumbrian residents to work through their mental health challenges. Each person gets to choose their own, personal route through our service, accessing 1:1 support, activity in the outdoors and skills development in our enterprise, guided by horticulture and mental health experts.

You can attend on one day per week for up to a year, setting goals, rebuilding confidence and learning new skills in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental environment.

Should you wish to enquire about accessing help for yourself, someone you know, a patient or client, please visit the Access Our Help page. For general enquiries about this site, please contact Growing Well West Cumbria.

“Growing Well has made an enormous difference. I felt suicidal at one point. I feel confident enough to say that it has saved my life.”

“Holds you accountable. Talking about your goals helps you to see it and visualise it. Can get the reassurance that it is something you can achieve by having the conversation with someone. Can add to, keep the same or change goals easily depending on the situation.”

“It has given me structure to my day, also gives me a sense of belonging. I’ve made some great friends too.”
