“All I did was sit and cry. Growing Well has given me the confidence to do things I wouldn’t normally have the confidence to do”
Growing Well Kendal volunteer Mandy spoke to ITV Border’s Fiona Marley-Paterson when she visited Low Sizergh Farm and the planned site at Tebay Services in June 2022.
“Around Covid time my best friend died and then my dad died and I just got depressed and I couldn’t do anything so I thought, I’ll come here, I like plants.
All I did was just sit and cry. I still sit and crying now and again, but not as much. It’s given me the confidence to do a few of the things that I wouldn’t normally have the confidence to do, so it’s helped quite a bit and I look forward to getting out and I look forward to coming hear and I look forward to meeting new people now.”
