Growing Well Egremont – Sneak Preview
Friday 6th October, 1-3pm, at Beck Green Nurseries, Cross Side, Egremont, CA22 2AP (first right after Hartley’s ice cream parlour).
Cumbrian mental health charity Growing Well is coming to Egremont and, in early 2024, we will be reopening the Beck Green plant nursery on Cross Side.
We will use the site to deliver our targeted mental health intervention to up to 72 local people in need, per week.
We will also be running a community day for the local public to get involved in our horticultural enterprise as volunteers, learn new skills and meet new people.
The site will generate enough fruit and vegetables to fill up to 100 veg boxes per week (50 of which will be subsidised for low-income families).
We are opening the gates to Beck Green between 1-3pm on Friday 6th October and invite you to come and meet staff from our other Cumbrian sites, learn more about our work and our plans to get the site back up and running.
Please note – Beck Green is very overgrown and not currently in use. The event is simply an opportunity for a quick view of the site and a chance to meet our team.
We regret that there is no wheelchair access at this time and no parking on or near to the site just yet (please use Beck Green car park and walk from here). Please also note that there are no toilet facilities.
